Various Sites with Drawings of VVS Aircraft
- Arsenal Drawings
Download : The GPW VVS drawings on this site are limited to the MiG-3
and Tupolev SB, but these are very well done.
- Base 13 Library : Some
of the drawings are easy to find, some are downloads, while others are attached
to a brief "history" page. Since it's all in Cyrillic it's not that easy to
navigate in for non-Cyrillic knowing individuals.
Modeling Vendor Sites
- FlightDecs - Canadian distributor, known
for carrying a lot of decals, VVS included
- Hannants : One of the largest UK
distributors, and a good chance to find E.European kits!
- KPL Systems : A great
little 'cottage industry' shop run by good old Ken LaSala. Lots of E.European
kits available from Ken at very reasonable prices.
- Linden Hill Imports : Plenty
to offer the VVS modeler, both GPW and modern. Guy's site here is outstanding,
and features a gallery of models from the incomparable Ken Duffy
- NKR Models : A fine site carrying
a lot of E.European kits.
- Tushino-Aviapress : CIS distributor
for models, books, magazines, and more!
- YASIG - Yugoslav Aviation SIG &
IPMS Yugoslavia; sells VVS airbrushing masks and more.
- MiG-3 Family
: Massimo Tessitori's site on MiG-3 development
- Black Cross/Red Star
: A site for VVS history and discussion by author Christer Bergstom. Very
impressive web site, prefacing their soon-to-be-released title on VVS and
German pilots.
- Håkans Aviation
Page - Biplane Fighters from the Second World War : This site is dedicated
to GPW Biplane Fighters and aces, of all nations. Follow the links for VVS
aces and aircraft, namely the I-15 series. Nicely done!
- Lend-Lease : Ilya Grinberg's
excellent site devoted to the Lend-Lease program
- Roy's Russian Aircraft
Resource Links : A nice collection of related information sites.
- Russian Aviation Page
: Lots of great material on modern and historical VVS aviation topics. An
excellent and up-to-the-minute resource for VVS information.
- Russian Aviation References :
Ken Duffy's excellent site. Plenty of GPW stuff, but some post-GPW as well.
- Russian Aviation Research : Another
site geared towared the post-GPW VVS. However, they too have a discussion
page where it appears any era of the VVS is acceptable The neatest thing about
this site is a page devoted to all aviation regiments, regardless of time
frame.
- The Russian Battlefield - Primarily
armor but some VVS content
