Here we'd like to offer a
brief assessment of many of the current titles available on the VVS from
the 1930-45 period. Our purpose is to direct the reader towards the better reference
material available, not to offer a comprehensive review of each and every book
appearing on the market. With this goal in mind, a rating system of 1-5 stars
is used for each title, according to the following table:
