Following the new-found popular availability of fine Shturmovik model kits, these Czech authors have produced a volume that must seem a dream-come-true for modelers of the Il-2. This photographic volume depicts the Il-2 and Il-10 aircraft in the collection of the Kbely Air Museum (Prague) in outstanding detail. This 24x22cm format softcover booklet contains 57 pages of photographs, including 30 in full color, in addition to several pages of scale line drawings and color side profiles. The text is rendered in both Czech and English.

The authors have taken great pains to provide detail photographs perfectly suited for modelers, showing all manner of specific detail features. The cockpit interior shots are especially superb, and in full color they offer a superlative visual reference for the difficult-to-categorize color(s) of VVS Metal Use (Blue-Green) Primer . This feature alone is well worth the price of the booklet, but it goes on further to provide much more outstanding Il-2 and Il-10 details. The photographic work is soundly competent, and all of the photos offer important visual information.

Il-2 Type 3 and Il-10/Avia B-33 in Detail is a magnificent photographic work that belongs on the shelf of every modeler of the Il-2. We recommend this title with the highest accolades.
