Pe-8, 1/72 scale ( Bill Wofford ). "This is the Zvezda Pe-8 in 1/72 scale. The kit is fairly well engineered and the parts fit together well for the most part. The paints are White Ensign Models Soviet colors and the decals came from the kit and spares box. It was a rather enjoyable build."

Pe-8, 1/72 scale ( Alex Ruchkovsky ). Petlyakov Pe-8-4AM-35. The model depicts aircraft #42028, red 9 of 25 Guards Long Range Bomb Regiment (25GDBAP), summer 1943. Built from YuMTK vacuform with serious wing and fuselage shape corrections suggested by recent Pe-8 related publications. Everything except the fuselage, the wings and the tailplane had to be scratchbuilt. I mastered one engine and my friend Dima Irinich cast in resin four copies that were used on the model. The beast took away some 18 months of my life.
