P-39
P-39, 1/72 scale ( Uwe Borchert ). This is the academy Bell P-39 in 1:72. The kit is accurat. But the wheels are to small. My wheels came from old parts from other kits. I completed the cockpit with a new dashboard, equipment and a new door with an open window. I made a new vakuum hood for the cockpit. I used the good camuflage suggestion from this website. ( see colourful Cobras ) The decals of the lightning and the "13" are handmade, the stars are from Eduard and the stencils came out of the kit. The serial numbers are printed with a colour bubble jet.
P-39
P-39, 1/72 scale ( Larry Baldwin ). Heller P-39. All the panel lines have been scribed, the wheel whell has been boxed in a resin cockpit has been added and a falcon vacuform canopy has been added. Even though the Heller kit is showing its age it is still accurate with a little effort it can still be turned it into a up to date kit.
P-39K
P-39K, 1/72 scale ( Matt Bittner ). This is the Academy P-39 with some modifications to it, including the addition of Equipage wheels. Decals are ALPS printed, and represents the second machine flown by Andrei Trud. More details can be found on Internet Modeler.
P-39N
P-39N, 1/72 scale ( Ruslan Sgursky ). This wonderful P-39 was completed using the Zvezda P-39N kit, built out of the box. The model depicts I.Babak's gorgeous "White 01" machine of the 16 GIAP, ca. 1945. The markings were obtained from the Travers '1/72 Aircobras' decal sheet.
P-39Q
P-39Q, 1/72 scale ( Ilya Grinberg ). A demonstration of the nice results one can achieve with an older kit; here we have Pokrishkin's famous "White 100". "P-39 of 16 GvIAP, A.I. Pokrishkin. OOB Heller kit. Just added guns from fine tubing (actually, I do this on all my models)."
P-39N
P-39N, 1/72 scale ( Erik Pilawskii ). Built right out of the box using the rather impressive Academy P-39 kit. This machine hails from the 11 GIAP VMF, pilot unknown, and was photographed in October 1943.
