La-7 ( Paul Flint ). "Hobbycraft La-7 in 1/48th scale built with the vacuum-formed canopy sold by Squadron. the decals were Aeromaster 48-086 and although I am not certain of the pilot or unit , the decals looked like an interesting plane to do. this model has a new mix for AMT-11,one part FS 36495,one part FS 16473 and one part USN Blue-Grey all from the Testors Acryl line. the only complaint I have for the kit (aside from the obvious over-done fabric areas) is the lack of any real way to correctly give the propeller blades the correct angle and pitch. gravity was the real enemy there"

La-7 ( António Beir o ). "Here is my Academy Lavochkin LA 7. It's not perfect, but for the time I'm very happy with it, so no problem. This is one of the best models I have ever build, and my opinion it's equal to any Tamiya or Hasegawa kits. I build it OOB and adding: seatbelts, some scratchbuildind in the cockpit and main landing gear and nylon for the antenna. For painting, I really didn't have many concerns, just followed the kit instructions and a little imagination (modelling is also fun, right?), using Vallejo colors for the underside blue (n.º 008) and for the uperside grey (054 + 008 mixed by my own risk...). Cowling was painted with Tamiya (red with a drop of green), also used on tail, with Tamiya white (didn't use kit decals). Side metal panels and cowling rings were painted with a mix of Humbrol metal cotes, using a brush. As I really didn't have many concerns with historic accuracy, I change the killing marks decal by a small one... well, from the kit decal sheet I only use little number "3", everything else came from the decal box.. Finally, I use some pastels (grey, black, browns) for the "artistic touch" and voilá!"

La-7 ( Anders Lindgren ). "I have recently finished a Gavia La-7 in 1:48 that I thought you might be interested in. The inspiration to build VVS aircrafts comes from your magnificent site. The La-7 is my first VVS aircraft but I have others that I intend to build. The model features vacuum formed canopy, homemade guns, flattened tires, brake lines and a scratch built sight. Other than that the model is built out of the box."

La-7 ( Michal Sekula ). Here are photos of my Kozhedub's Lavochkin La-7 kit in the WWII „look".
The kit is from the Hobbycraft production in the 1:48 scale. Kit was built OOB, no PE parts or other aftermarked parts were added. Only wire antena was made from the silver painted hair. To personalize a standard La-7 as the Kozhedub's one was a real challenge to me. Aircraft exhibited in the Monino AF Musem has the white spinner. There is also a b&w picture of Kozhedub standing by a front part of his aircraft, where spinner color is lighter then the color of the red areas on the engine cowling. On the other side there are also sources describing red spinner. As well as the new Gavia 1/48 kit. Finally, I decided to painted it white as well as a part of the rudder. The problem was also with the decoration and victories symbols. I found an article in the Aero Plastic Kits Revue no. 64 from 1997. It was an interview with general Kramarenko. He said that he flew Kozhedub's legendary „White 27" since mid April 1945, after Kozhedub was moved to Moscow. There were neither small victory stars nor „Gold Star" medals painted on the La-7 fuselage. They were painted later, at the Frunze Academy Museum.

La-7 ( István Vadász ). Hobbycraft, Captain P.J.Golovachev, 18.01.1945, 9. GIAP, 303. IAD. It is built out of the box. Used paintings: AMT-7 (mixed) AMT-11 (Gunze H-308), AMT-12(Tamiya XF-53 + mixing), Aero Wood (Gunze H-307).

La-7 ( Ian Robertson ). Here is the Gavia kit built out of the box. The camouflage was painted with Polly Scale acrylics - Haze Gray and Dark Topside Gray upper surfaces over Russian underside blue.

La-7 ( David Harmer ). Some excellent 'aspect photography' from David. "This is the Karo-As La-7 and my first vacu-form model. It was finished using Aeromaster Decals and - while not strictly accurate - True Details' La-5 cockpit. I used a lot of filler and had to reconstruct the cowling from plastic card after I destroyed the front part of it removing the moulded-in cooling fans. However, I think these problems can be attributed to my lack of experience building vacu-forms rather than the kit itself, which was basically pretty good (some of the panel detail was a little rough). I really enjoyed the project and will be building more La-7s (although, I plan to use Gavia's offering for my next one, there is only so much filling and sanding a man can take!)."

La-7 ( Hector Mirasol ). This fine model was completed o/o/b in 1:48 using the Hobbycraft La-7 kit. The aircraft depicted is Dolgushin's beautiful "White 93" of the 156 IAP, as seen in Germany in 1945.

La-7

La-7 ( Peter Vill ). This Hobbycraft La-7 was constructed with the resin cockpit from True Details, Canopy by Squadron, and Aeromaster paints and decals. It nicely depicts Sultan Amet-Khan's '24' machine during 1944-45.
