Lavochkin La-5 in 1/48th Scale

La-5

La-5 ( Bill Wofford ). "This is the limited run South Front 1/48 La-5. The kit is a bit on the crude side. I think it may have been molded by Amodel. Almost all the parts need some cleanup. Nevertheless, it builds into a reasonable likeness of the La-5. The paints are from White ensign models and the decals are from the kit."

La-5

La-5 ( Jean Barby ). Vector kit.

La-5F

La-5F ( Jean Barby ). Vector kit.

La-5FN

La-5FN ( Jean Pascal Maire ). "I send some pictures views of a La 5 to Hobbycraft at 1/48. I've totaly rebuilt the wings, rudder, cockpit , landing gears and too many parts of this kit..... The model depicts a LA5 of the 18th GvIAP, 303rd Division, 1st Air Army at Tula in 1944. This unit operated near the "Normandie-Niemen" regiment."

La-5FN

La-5FN ( Hector Mirasol ). "This is also a Hobby Craft kit in 1/48. It is quite basic but good enough. The cockpit was super detailed and the flaps done using the Eduard photo etched brass. The canopy is a Squadron canopy which I decided to place opened for a better view of the inside. The model represents the La-5fn flown by H.S.U. Vitaly Popkov. This particular plane was originally painted in blue/grey Aerolack but after the winter it was painted green and brown blotches for a short period and finally in a more standard two grey tone camouflage. Decals are again from Aeromaster."
