Modeling the VVS Skinner's Page

Il-2 Forgotten Battles Camouflage Project

It occurred to a number of skinners that, with the arrival of some proper reference material, it would be nice to 'correct' the appearance of the VVS aircraft skins in IL2FB. After all, such an outstandingly realistic simulation just screams out for authentic colouration and markings. While this musing was underway, an even more ambitious thought seized us: why not complete skins featuring all of the factory applied camouflage?

Well, ambitious indeed. Too much for any small group of persons to take on, for sure. But, what about with a large number of people? And then, this idea emerged: let's throw open the project to everyone. We'll organize the project with a sign-up sheet; not to say who-can-do-what, but just to let everyone else know what is being worked on, and what needs work.

SO, here it is! We are in the process drawing up a list of each significant camouflage application for the VVS aircraft in IL2FB. Obviously, this might be something of a work-in-progress for a bit, as the number of such schemes is rather large! The project will start with the fighter aircraft first. Those, of course, becuase the available reference covers VVS fighters! In future, more aircraft types yet will materialize. Of course, those wishing to work on schemes for other aircraft should please do so; we simply may not track that here (for now).

If you would like to volunteer to make one of the skins for this Project, please send an e-mail describing your name, your e-mail address, the scheme you'd like to do, and any assistance that you might require to complete it.
