Tally Ho! Sheet No. 72008 Curtiss P-40M/N

Overall this is an excellent sheet. There are four separate P-40s catered for with these decals, but only two are VVS, both - it would appear - from the 191 IAP. Unfortunately, due to the scanning process, the white numbers for each machine don't appear on the scan.

The only problem I can see with these decals is there are only enough stencils for one machine. Luckily Tally Ho! supplies the stencils separately so one can still add the stencils to the other schemes if wanted, by purchasing the separate stencils. There is one item that I'm not sure of and am still researching. The instructions would have you apply underside blue to the areas of the US stars to paint them out. My thinking is that with the Neutral Gray undersides of the Lend Lease P-40, something along the lines of AMT-11 would make more sense.

The VVS machines covered are:

  1. "White 99" flown by an unknown, Leningrad 1943
  2. "White 23" flown by V.A. Ryevin of the 191 IAP, Leningrad, 1943

These decals are pretty impressive and highly recommended.
