Yak-3

Yak-3 ( Lukasz Kedzierski ). "Eduard Profipack. The kits is depicted in markings of Semen Rogovoy of the 64 GIAP circa 1945. This must be one of the best kits I have ever made. Fit of parts is exceptional so is the level of details. My only criticism is thick trailing edges, which I have not corrected and at the end they do not look too bad, but they are thick nevertheless. I suppose that the little PE fret included in the Profipack kit helps in the cockpit, but even without it there is enough parts there to make it look busy. My kits is built basically OOB with the exception of the addition of dividing plates in wing root air intakes, undercarriage position indicators on the upper wing surface and drilling out gun openings. I also added fuel gauges taken from this site and printed on a laser printer according to Erik's instructions. These were fixed in position with Future, sealed with matt coat along with the entire airframe and Future was applied again to simulate glass covers. Antenna line was added as well. Weathering was accomplished with the combination of pre- and post-shading, artist oils wash and dry pastels."

Yak-3

Yak-3 ( Bob Partridge ). This very fine model was completed using the equally fine Eduard kit. The aircraft depicted is that of St.Lt. A.N Grishin of the 940 IAP, Trans-Baikal Front, 1945. The aircraft was finished in AMT-12 upper surfaces, which Bob mixed himself. The decals are custom units printed on an ALPS-1000. All manner of detail work was completed in the cockpit, and the model is quite impressive up close.
