I-16 Type 10

I-16 Type 10, ( David Matuek ). Academy model with Eduard Photo etched set.

I-16 Type 10

I-16 Type 10, ( Tom Plesha ). Done a couple of years ago with many errors. It represents Joaquin Garcia Morato's captured Type 10 of the Legion Kondor. Modified and scratched interior-cowling-full exhaust with collector ring with individual stacks-hypodermic needle guns and no decals what-so-ever, on the exterior.

I-16 Type 10

I-16 Type 10, ( Peter Vill ). "Hobby Craft kit with detailed added to the cockpit, none of which is visible now, paint scheme based on a photo in the Squadron IN ACTION BOOKLET. I used this kit as an exercise in painting and weathering white."

I-16 Type 10

I-16 Type 10, ( Hector Mirasol ). "This is a Spanish build "Mosca" (Fly) as it is shown in a picture taken at La Rabasa ( Alicante) airport in 1939. Polikarpovs were built in Spain under license by the Republicans. This is a model of a type 10 serving with the Spanish Republican Air Forces ( F.A.R.E). The plane was painted in a two tone camouflage on the upper surfaces and sky blue underneath. The colours are completely hypothetical but the green shadow is most probably a Russian green , while the clear earth is a complete guess. I choose this quite yellowish tone because the colour of the landscape in that part of Spain. The model is a Hobby Craft 1/48 with a few modifications. The interior of the cockpit has been completely rebuilt as has the engine. The cowling panels are open to allow viewing of the engine but in this picture they are in place. The model has no decals. The original machine only had red bands on the wings and fuselage and the republican flag on the tail plane as was usual. This particular machine has no code numbers or any other marks."
