Polikarpov I-152 in 1/72nd Scale

I-15bis

I-15bisHerb Arnold ). "AvUsk 1/72 I-152."

I-15bis

I-15bisIskender Mailibayev ). "It's an ICM 1/72 kit that represents a machine sent to Republican forces toward the end of the Spanish civil war. It was my first biplane model and I've had some problems with the upper and lower wing allignment. I've also ruined the original fuselage struts and had to scratch build new ones. Bracing was made of nylon threads and an optical gunsight was constructed of syringe needles. Cowl bands were immitated by stripes of metal foil (frankly they look a bit wide to me). I've used ModelMaster and Humbrol enamels to paint the model. Gloss Revell lacquer was sprayed before decals were applied. Looking at the final result I think that I should've painted the fin stripes instead of using one-piece decals. Weathering was done by a combination of watercolor wash, pastels and drybrushing. My model shows some battle wear though it's questionable whether I-15bis was used in combat in Spain."

I-152 ( Bill Arnold ). Encore (ICM) Polikarpov I-152. Basically OOB, and only the gunsight was replaced with a syringe needle. The Model is fully rigged with Ethicon .005 stainless. True Details seat belts were added to the interior. Special thanks to Matt Bittner who's build article made this project a lot easier.

I-152 (  Mercatali Stefano  ). This 1/72nd I-15 represents "Black" 58 of American pilot Frank G.Tinker of the Republican Air Force to the end of 1936. With this I-15 he achieved his third victory in the skies of Teruel. Tinker has the first American pilot to destroy a Bf-109.

This model is the Encore Polikarpov I-152bis in 1/72 scale, modified as a I-15 Chato of Republican Air Force.
The dimensions are correct and the particulars are recorded and the copkit is detalied enough.
In the cockpit it is neccessary to construct armored shield, easy and fast. The instruments are made from a photoetched film. The instument panel needs to be mounted right side up. In order to end we add the belts in the seat. The cockpit colour is light gray with detail(bars) in aluminium. After painting, cut the fuselage open for the lateral windows, typical of this model. Afterwards, a couple of two small pieces of clear plastic were added as windows. Close the fuselage, then cut the wings in order to obtain two wings, using the two "reliefs like reference", graved the seed wings (Ed. Note - unknown what this all means) . After it is filled up of glue and putty. It is important not to cut completely.
The succesive modification is the fairing of the motor, totally various. Constructed with the original piece with added fairing of Savoia SM79. Then bending the ambrasures for the passage of the machine-guns. These are constructed with bars of 2mm that they are pierced. In order to end I have constructed a carter-cover,with a plastic bar of 15mm to work to the late and to milling machine.
The used colors add:HUMBROL olive drab 155,red 60,yellow 154.TESTOR 1728 ligth gray and to the end X16 Tamiya violet. The decals necessary they are alone is "58"number.
