1/72nd Hawker Hurricane

Hurricane Mk.IID

Hurricane Mk.IID ( István Vadász ). Type: Hurricane Mk. II. D, Scale: 1/72, Manufacturer: Hasegawa, 1944.246. IAP.

Hurricane Mk.IIB

Hurricane Mk.IIB ( Uwe Borchert ). "Hawker Hurricane Mk. II B is build nearly out of the box from the Smer Mk.II C. This machine has two ShKAS and two ShVAK in the wings. I make a new hood and new decals for this plane from "Red stars in the sky". Unfortunetly the original made an underbelly landing in 1942."

Hurricane Mk.IIC

Hurricane Mk.IIC ( István Vadász). Type: Hurricane Mk. II. C, Scale: 1/72, Manufacturer: Hasegawa, Decals: Travers

Hurricane Mk.IIb

Hurricane Mk.IIb ( Peter Zatrepalek ). "It is plane of Gen.Mjr. Kuznetsov from Baltic Fleet 1941. I used 1/72 Revell kit Hurricane MkIIb and new decals from Czech company Tally-ho. For camouflage and marking application I used as reference the photos in Red Stars excellent publications and photos included in decal sheet manual. The engine, cockpit and wheel bays are made from CMK resin sets, the flaps are made from Polish photoetched part from company PART. The colors are Modelmaster/Testor authentic for British WWII planes, the green AMT 4 under Red Stars is also from Modelmaster. (Photo 1-4 by CMK News, Mr. Petr Brojo, photo 5 by Libor Maly)"

Hurricane Mk.IIb

Hurricane Mk.IIb ( Peter Gunti ). Revell's Hurricane Mk.IIb.

Hurricane Mk.IIb

Hurricane Mk.IIb ( Russell Field ). This kit uses the AeroMaster decal sheet; the kit is the Revell/Germany Hurricane IIb, out-of-the-box except for addition of a CMK engine component, which needed a little correction of the framing (couple of problems with this kit, but nothing TOO major ...).

Hurricane Mk.IIb

Hurricane Mk.IIb ( Erik Pilawskii ). I built this VVS Hurricane IIb using the new Revell -IIb 1:72 scale kit. The fit and detail on this model were very nice, save for some annoying areas around the cowling and on the fuselage bottom. The machine depicted is 'White 10', unit unknown, photographed on a Karelian airfield during 1942 (possibly in service with the 485 IAP); pilot is also unknown. It is thought to be an ex-151 Sqn. machine, a -IIb with twelve Brownings still in the wings. The scheme is the standard RAF application Grey/Green pattern with areas of AII Green sprayed over the British markings. ALPS decals all around.

Hurricane Mk.IIb

Hurricane Mk.IIb ( Erik Pilawskii ). This Hasegawa -IIb kit was completed as 'Yellow 30' of the 609 IAP, pilot unknown, ca. 1942. I noticed during construction that the Revell kit was a bit larger than the Hasegawa, and different in some detail, leading me to wonder which was the more accurate! The aircraft is clearly a -IIb that has been modified to the common VVS armament configuration of one UBS and one ShVAK in each wing. The scheme is another RAF pattern, this supplemented with some areas on unknown light color (I chose AE-9 grey). Decals were printed on and ALPS-1000.

Hurricane Mk.IIb

Hurricane IIb ( Ilya Grinberg ). "Hurricane of 2 GvSAP (former 72 SAP) of the VVS of the North Fleet as it appears in AS magazine. I modified it for Soviet armament (2 ShVAK +2 UBT + 6 rocket pods). I used Eduard's PE parts, all of them except the flaps."
